ABC ELIGIBLE TOPS THE MELBOURNE APG SALE

A Western Terror three-quarter brother to Victoria Derby finalist Chariot King and half brother to Bathurst Gold Crown winner Emjayem Grand topped the three days of the Melbourne Australian Pacing Gold sales over last weekend.
Purchased for $75,000 by Peter Hayes, the colt is the fifth foal of the Silent Spring mare Queen Xena. A five time winner, she is certainly producing the goods in the breeding barn.
The highest priced filly was $71,000 for an Art Major filly out of the three time Group One winner Dilinger’s Reign. Her first foal, she was purchased by Melbourne enthusiast Arthur Fullwood.
New Zealand based stallion Sundon sired the highest priced trotting lot and this yearling will be headed there also. Purchased by leading trainer Mark Purdon for $37,500, the colt is out of Victoria Trotters Oaks and Vicbred Super Series champion Skye Valley.
The overall average for the three days was $17,537 with the Breeders Crown yearlings averaging slightly more at $17,601.
